Morning All,
I have a Windows 2008 server running VMPro 8.1.9102 and an IPO V1 8.1.67. System was upgraded from 5.0 to 8.1 about a month and a half ago and I thought everything was working fine. Customer has stated there is an issue with vmail to email. When the end user receives an email, the "From" address is showing the caller id of the person leaving the message, am waiting for an example email from customer to verify. The "From" address was previously showing "voicemail@abccompany.org".
The SMTP Sender entry in the VMPro is still set to "voicemail@abccompany.org" so I'm not sure how that would be changing when the message is sent to the end user.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

That is one of the nice features of SMTP, you can send mail with any alias you like.
Like kkennedy@avaya.com ( that is the CEO of Avaya )
I don't think you can change that (never tried) in VMPro.

Thats what is so odd. Prior to the upgrade, the email came from "IP Office Voicemail Pro Server". After the upgrade it shows the CLID NAME.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Avaya\Media Services\Directories look here for what's set as sender etc :)

"No problem monkey socks

[smile]Thanks amriddle, will give it a look when I get to the office!

I think Avaya made one of those famous "hidden" new features on this in relese 8.1

That would be unfortunate but not surprising as it is sending my emails to the Junk folder :)

I've looked in the registry and EMAILFROM is set to "From:"
I'm guessing that is where my problem lies. Should/Could I edit that value to be "IP Office Voicemail Pro Server"?

Give it a shot, you can always roll back.
First stop the vm service, make the chang and start the service, test.
