Can you use R2.0 (15) vm pro with an IP Office R2.1 (16) or will there be issues?

I've had it work for the short term (a couple days, tops), but is it really worth flirting with disaster when you can just download the 2.1 voicemail CD from Avaya?

The nice thing about a 2.0 > 2.1 upgrade is that it doesn't require you to uninstall 2.0 first. Just run the 2.1 setup and the installshield will automagically stop and start the VM service. The install will appear seemless to your users.

Thanks. I couldn't imagine it being a good idea, but I have a customer who wants to upgrade their IP Office themselves, but wasn't going to upgrade the vm pro. I advised against it, so hopefully they will listen.

Weird. Why wouldn't they want to upgrade the VM Pro? Heck of a lot easier upgrading VM Pro than it is to upgrade Admin or module firmware. [peace]

A customer who wants to take their business's lifeblood in their hands and toy with it?? Sounds like a recipe for an emergency after hours service call to me... eep!

Oh well you know what the little birdie said: "Cheap cheap cheap cheap"

Peter

Cheap?, there's nothing Cheap about an out of hours emergency call for customer induced faults!

Sounds like a "nice little earner" as we say on theis dreary little island ;-)
