I am installing new IP Office with VMPro installed on HP server. The server is going to be used for the voicemail only. I also have Avaya 4500 switch with IP phones. The Avaya 4500 is connected to LAN1 using IP address 192.168.1.1. All the IP phones are working, but I can’t get VMPro to work. It does not see the IP Office. I set up the HP server IP address to 192.168.1.20, and I setup the voicemail address in the IP Office to 192.168.1.20. I have the Manger program installed on the HP server, and I can access the IP Office with no problems. I turned off the firewall and it did not help. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Use debugview to see if you have socket errors ( = network)

A simple mind delivers great solutions

What port on the switch is the VM server plugged into, if you ran any of the "run ipoffice" commands then port 2 is on a data VLAN. Check to see if you can ping from the SSA to the VM pro IP address.

I forgot to mention that the Avaya 4500 switch is used for the IP office,IP phones, and voicemail only and nothing else. Thanks.

Default gateway?
Make an IP route in the IPO with 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx lanx
