Hi all,

Im running latest VM Pro 4.1.27 alongside IPO 412 (4.1.9) and im experiencing a very strange problem.

When upgrading the VM PRO version the call flow got imported without problems but now if i make a change (example, a transfer changed from extension to a new module) i hit Save and Make Live but the changes are not live, ever! I tried restarting the service, rebooting the PC, exporting > importing call flow ... nothing works. I am stuck with the config i origianlly imported after the upgrade.

Any ideas?

Are you in online mode ?

Sorry, yes of course

You dont have a Rogue installation of VMPro on a laptop or indeed a Desktop and you are logging onto the wrong Database.

Also be aware, if your call flows/call recording are in use they will not take effect until the call flows are idle.

I've been using the same PC for VM Pro for the past 3 years. I use it for Manager as well. We have only one instance of VM Pro running on the Network so I am connecting to the right database.

The funny thing is that if I look at the List of Modules in VM Pro the changes are appearing but if I do File > View as text then i can still see the older Modules names/options !!!

Try something.
Connect so online,

Make obvioius change;
Save and make live.

Reboot both VM services, if this works then it has to be an issue with your calls flows being busy at time of hitting the save and make live.

Thanks, still no changes though ... I am now considering re-installing VMPRO 4.1.27, will all customs Wavs + Accoutns folders + greetings be wiped if I uninstalled?

No, not usually. But never assume all will be good.

Pull down the services and make a backup copy of WAVs/Greetings/Names/Accounts just in case however.

I have similar issues, when I make a change on 4.1.27 and Save and Make Live, I get an error that the changes cannot be saved to a text file, then ALL of the VMPro call flows stop working.
Same Stuff, different version.

Well i spent 5 hours on this issue last night, its getting from weird to insane!

I re-installed the VMPRO completly after backing up the Accoutns/greetings/Wavs files, still nothing. The saved IVR is impossible to alter whatever i do.

I even went as far as deleting a custom Wav file that was being played and it still plays!!!! Is the IVR/Wavs loaded on the IPO 412???

One question that bothers me: The password to provide in the VM PRO preferences, what are they on about? What is this password? Shoudl i make it up? There is no such thing as a VM password on the IPO config.

Any help appreciated, im going insane! Last thing, i read about the Remote desktop issue so i was using VNC only last night.

Thanks,

The vm password is set in the security settings
Go to file -> advanced -> security settings

Thanks, cant change the passwords from there though. I looked on the Help and it seems the default password for Voicemail Pro is blank so i removed the password from VMPro Preferences. Same problem.

Is there anything i can do to take control of the IVR again?

The fact you removed the wav file and it still played baffles me. Go to system preferrences and Directories tab, make sure VM was installed in the same directory you are working on.

I had the same issue. I waited until the customer lunch, made sure noone was recording or in Vmail at all. Then the changes took just fine. The same customer had a module with an entry prompt to a dial by name directory stop working. The rest of the flow was fine, just the one key press for the directory. Something is awry in 4.1.27 and I hear a new release is due any day...

Thanks, its more or less resolved for me but i never had these problem on older version ... I understand that if the flow is in use then no update but surely it should wait and then update when flow is free again? Thats definetly not the case on my system.

RDP to the machine that houses VMPRO and login locally, i would not connect to it remotely with the VMPRO client. This has never worked 100% of the time for me it says it is making the changes but they never actually happen, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.

Better stay away from RDP and use something like VNC, it is free and it actually works well if you set the remote screen resolution smaller then your local one. It works nice and you see the entire screen and don't have to scroll.

You are sure aint you that the vm is idle becasue any changes are not implemented until all ports are idle as per the provs statement.
