I have been having connectivity issues with my natted VM's.

It seems that they are getting an incorrect mac every so often for the Default Gateway of the nat, which is interface VMNET8.

This is on a Gentoo Host running Vmware Server.

Anyone have any similar issues?

I have solved my problem.

It seems that in vmnet8 nat you do not assign the default gateway to the x.x.x.1 address. Your default gateway needs to be x.x.x.2. In vmnet8 a virtual piece of natting hardware exists at x.x.x.1. Since I initially had set my vm's default gateway to one I was have mac issues because both the default gateway (.2) and the virtual nat hardware (.1) would both arp reply their mnacs for .1.

Wierd but now fixed.
