i have ip office 500 v2 rls 7.0

i have created an exchange account with the following
user : avayavmail
password : Pa55w0rd

i have entered the ip address of the mail server into manager along withe the sending email "avayavmail@customer.com and put the username and password as above.

i set the users to have vmail to email and put there email address in the user field and checked off "copy"

is there a step im missing? because its not working. does outlook need to be installed on the vmail server? or does ipoffice itself have the client on it?

you need to make sure the exchange servers smtp allows for relay from the VM Pro server.

what version of exchange?

ill ask the customer

is it a setting on the exchange server? like i have to allow it to accept relays from my vmails server ip address?

Do you have Vmpro or embedded voicemail? If vmpro, you don't enter the info using Manager, you enter it through vmpro.

you dont need to have an exchange accout at all
Tell your customer to set up a recieve connector on exchange and configure this connect to accept email only from the IP address of the vmpro box
