Vmail to email not working

I have enabled vmail to email in my extension settings with email address. In my smtp I have enabled smtp with valid parameters and it is on. However, vmail to email was working and has abruptly stopped. I'm inclined to believe that I might have a corrupt sw issue.. Any thoughts on how to rectify this issue. One of quite a few!!!!!

I'd start with looking at the maillog (under Support - System log files) for clues why the send operation failed.

Yes I see where it is unable to authenticate. Kinda screwy since it accepts the parameters set in Remote SMTP.. I'll keep digging..

After doing a little more digging I can see where it"s unable to connect. I changed the port settings to my incoming mail server port and it can see where it is attempting to connect( waiting on xxx.xxx.x.xxx )which is the ip address of the ucx. After the unsuccessful attempt it reads (Failed to send hello command). Any thoughts on why it can't connect to incoming port. Anyone??????

I guess this is a stumper. I have switched the port settings in Remote SMTP to 587 and it authenticates with no problem. However, port 587 is an outgoing mail server port so it is unable to connect. At least it authenticates. If I use port 110 which is the incoming mail server port, it does not authenticate. As I stated above (failed to send help command).I have been working with the host for my outlook and they are stumped also.....
