Ok I have R7 Processor, 308EC Module and R7 Messaging Module. I'm getting the hang of all of this...just taking a awhile. I have the ASA/DXD card installed and I've created the DXD message and it transfers to the extensions fine...

My question is: What is the option for number of rings at the extension...and how do I get it to then go straight to that extensions VMailbox?

I can't find the Messaging R7 Administration software and I can't get my modem to work with so I'm doing everything from the Set

It's easier to do it from the set anyway. Why are you using DXD instead of the auto attendant?

#321 is VMS Cover Rings, the delay before a mailbox answers.

Putting an extension in DND makes its mailbox answer immediatly, or using selector codes and mailbox transfer from an auto attendant.

I think maybe I should be. The DXD was simple to setup and it is how their old system was working...

However, I'm a little gunshy with the AA what is the main difference between AA and DXD? My BIG problem I just discovered is that NO Caller ID information gets transferred with the DXD transfer. Just "Direct Extension Dial" shows up on the display??

I've been setting this entire system up...rewired everything...moved the offic practically since Friday night and I've had it! I've never setup a Messaging Module in my life but I believe I have it working the way they would like it, I just can't get Caller ID now and they really want that!

Ok I'm using the AA now and it's cool. I like the choosing the directory name option!

I also figured out my Caller ID problem...I was making the AA and DXD answer the calls immediately...preventing the system from having anough time to pull the Caller ID info. I had to set it to 2 rings and tell all the phones to delay ringing.

I started another thread and asked this question: If I'm using the AA from the Messaging module do I even have to have the ASA/DXD card in the system?

Thanks for the help! Next time I'll actually look at the contents of the CD before complaining!

Read the instructions! No way, real men don't read instructions!! No offense ladies in case you don't read them either.
