I'm trying to setup VM to email. I have this set up at many locations but I'm having trouble with this one. I know I have the correct server, acount name and PW. The VM client option is set to SMTP but for some reason it will not validate.

The VM Pro is 3.1.16 and I know this is not the latest 3.1 release and it may be the problem but I would like to know before we uprgrade if that is in fact the issue. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Are you using Exchange, If so you need to enable the VM Server IP Address the ability to relay via the SMTP Connector

Best way if you dnot have a mail server onsite is to setup a simple SMTP Server using IIS on the local VM Pro Box. Assuming you have an internet connection, this effectviely turns your VM PC into a basic mail server that allows it to send emails for VM Alerts. Make sure to secure the server and restrict access and relay so it doesnt get hacked.
