I have 2 avaya ip office 500v2 phone systems on same network. System A, existing system, works just fine. Added system B about 8 miles away at new office location but connected to switch in rack that is connected to System A network by fiber so they are on same network. Calls and transfers and everything else is working great. I put in the same smtp server ip address and port 25 and outgoing email address in system b (system, smtp tab) as what is in system A. IP route set up and gateway is same since on same network. I am not sure what else to check. Suggestions for trouble shooting issue? I believe I can ping from system B to smtp server. Should I try that to see if they are able to talk? Not sure what else to do.

Reboot the system. The IPO tries five times and gives up un til the next reboot.

A madman with a taste for speed.

Is this an scn if so the vm to em would all be done by the same voicemail server,

implies you have VM servers on both systems - probably embedded.
As per Pepp77 & more importantly Avaya
systems connected in an SCN MUST use a centralised VM Pro Server (surprised Holdmusic did not spot that one)

Not unless you have configured Site B to use a Centralised VM Pro Server at site A, you are just not seeing the problems yet (some are quite subtle)

Same system and I have a problem with echo. The master system has physical phone lines and no issues there. The slave system which is on the same network does not have physical phone lines. Echo occurs at satellite location and I need suggestions on what to try. I adjusted settings on VCM but they say the problem still occurs. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I may have to start a new thread for this issue. I guess we'll see.
Thanks in advance for any ideas.

1st try to shut the auto gain control off on the phones and also make sure the volume on the handsets are not turned up too high.

These are AVAYA 1416 phones. I am having trouble finding how to turn off auto gain control. Does this phone support AGC?

this is a separate issue please raise it s a separate thread it will help the other users who use the search function to find solutions (both of them :) )
