Hi Guys,

I upgraded the IPO Manager and VM Pro to 5.0 (VM Pro was upgraded to 5 (21) ). These were upgraded from 4.1.17.

Everything seems to be working fine, auto attendant works, all extension voice mail boxes work. But when I go into the VM Pro client, the Modules pane at the bottom left is empty. It just says 'Modules', but clicking on that produces nothing. SO what happened, and how can I get them back? I'm afraid to reboot the VM server for fear that it may break when it comes back up!

Thanks in advance!

If you have been using Remote Desktop to connect to that server it corrupts the callflows and makes them unchangeable/unreadable. A redo is the only way around it I'm afraid, unless you made backups before upgrading and the corrution took place :)

Also if it's not that, are you actually in live view/logged in not offline mode with the client?

Yup, remote desktop is what we've always used.

I was looking for the .vmp files, but I don't see any. I do see what I think may be some of the original config files. What file would I be looking for?
I see a "call flows.mdb" and a "companyname.cfg" file.

Thanks.

Did you export the call flows before you upgraded? if not you will most likely need to rebuild it.

Use VM Pro client to try and Import the .mdb file :)

I *think* I may have found a recent backup, and no, I was an idiot and didn't back anything up before the upgrade. Seriously, I don't know what I was thinking!

So, lets say that I can't restore, what's going to happen? It seems to be working right now with the correct call flow. Where is it getting that from? And will I lose it if I reboot???

I have seen this before and we ended up listening to the wav files and rebuilding all the call flows. be careful if you click save and make live on the client it may make it not work anymore. it is picking the info up from one of the files and if you over rite it then its gone.

Thanks so much.

I think I got lucky on this one. I imported a callflows.mdb file from about a year ago, I've gone through it and it looks correct - with the exception of one change I happen to remember making 3 months ago. So I did click save and make live and so far still good.

You now... I really shouldn't start this stuff at 2 am when I'm 40 miles away from the office.

Basically it is using a corrupted file, who knows what will happen with a reboot, it depends how corrupted it is. As I say a redo is the only way as Kevin above did you need to listen to the Wav's as they are usually not effected it is the .mdb that gets corrupted, there is a Tech bulletin saying not to use Remote Desktop...now you know why :)

I posted that before your last post, good job you had a backup :) Just DO NOT USE REMOTE DESKTOP AGAIN :) Use VNC or Logmein or similiar :)

did the same myself going from 4.2 to 5.21 and the modules vanished, although still working!

You notice that vmpro does an auto backup to C:\Program Files\Avaya\IP Office\Voicemail Pro\DB Backup before the upgrade. import that database and you will be laughing

In that case add the ? . Dial shortcode so the redial works without the 9 and leave the 9N Dial N shortcode in for the users and they will be none the wiser :) Still masking the fault but nobody will know :)
