We have a 403 and 406 linked though a Point-to-point T-1 and sharing a VM Pro at the 406 site. The machines are running on 1.4 and we have real and imagined nightmares about upgrading to 2.0. Things are running smoothly, but we are interested in upgrading the VM Pro to 2.0 from 1.4. Can this be accomplished without having to upgrade the 403 and 406 machines?

Upgrading the VM pro is easy & should still run on a 1.4 switch (not tested)

I would recomment the following procedure

1) create a COPY of the VM pro directory (just in case)
2) uninstall VM Pro 1.4
3) Install VM Pro 2.0

If all has gone well you should have a working VM Pro & all you existing config should still be in place. if not copy VMdata.mdb back to the VMPro directiry & root.VMP back to Vmpro/VM

I Would still recomend upgrading the IPO's to 2.0(18), Although there have been a few problems with 2.0 2.0(18) is reported as stable & upgrading the IPO's Should not cause any problems, You can always downgrade again if necessary
