I am trying to write a new module that takes multiple key entries from the caller and stores them in to a $CP(x) system variable. Will the $KEY be reset after the initial entry so that multiple entry requests (three separate entries required by the caller) do not concatenate the $KEY entry?

Also, if I use $ in the menu option, will it store the hash key?

Thanks!

The variable $KEY will always hold the last entered DTMF sequence, any old value will be overwritten.
If using the $ option in a menu it only store numeric values, no # or * value.
It is also possible to use questionmarks, one for each digit to collect then there is no need for the caller to press # to end the input.
But it limits the input to a fixed length number which is not always what you want or need.

Correct. We are using $ to accept one or two digits. But then I immediately validate the entry based upon the rules of the entry and ask the caller to re-enter if the digits are invalid. Pretty slick..
