Just installed a new IP Office v8.1.673102 with VM Pro 8.1.9102.0. I created an auto attendant with the option for a spell by name directory by last name. When a caller selects that option and enters the last name, the system select the first names that match that spelling. If I make the directory by first name, it does the exact opposite. I have the full names in the IP Office programmed "First Last". I have restarted the VM Pro service and ran a repair on the installation without any luck. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Just my guess, but based on what I did for a customer this is probably the case:

I had a customer who wanted to do directory search on their phone with last name (legit demand), because the IPO doesn't offer option to select first or last, only first (bad idea; should be an option in IPO).

So, I created the users with full names reversed to accomodate them, and reversed the .wav files in the VMPro; exported them, renamed them, and put them back in. Problem solved. In the VMPro modules, I put search by first name

crate a new module in VM Pro and try with that.

I was actually able to fix the problem. Very strange. When I clicked on the user's full name, the cursor was way off to the right. Somehow several spaces were added to the end of every users full name (more than 50). I removed all of spaces and like magic, it started working again. Not sure how the spaces got there, I'm just happy that it's fixed. Thanks for the help

Nope, I typed them in manually using the tab key to go from line to line.
