Hi All,

I have a module that plays a message (you call is being recorded) via a generic then to a transfer to the ipoffice group (4054)

I now have been asked to add a message that can be turned on and off to say that they are in a meeting please leave a message. The message is to go to 4054 mailbox.

I have tested a new module with a generic message then a Leave Mail set to mailbox 4054 but I get the new message and the NS message from the group mailbox.

Is there any way of dropping the call straight in to the mailbox with out the caller hearing the mailbox message or name?

Use the voice question action instead :)

Yes, its called the Listen action. Not voice question.

Make sure you put a prompt in there, telling them to leave a message, then use MC_00.wav for a beep sound. It will record to the mailbox you specify without any type of greeting or options.

If you use the voice question there is no need to mess on putting the beep file in, it does it for you and you can send the recording to the mailbox of your choice, I know what each one does and what I suggested tends to be better :)

Voice Question is broke in some ways on the windows/linux this causes the service to stop or reboot the linux. I use the listen action for now. It's a bug in both of the latest versions of R7 and R8. I have a case open with T4 at the moment.

Maybe I should re-word it.

Use the Listen action to accomplish the task as the help files actually say that this option "assists the caller to leave a message in the start point's mailbox or in a specified mailbox."

The voice question action is a simplified campaign that allows multiple questions and answers to either be sent to a mailbox or to an email. Yes, it allows you to control the length of the message, but why, when the global max is 60 minutes anyhow? I suppose if you wanted to limit the length for certain people this would be a useful option.

The listen action is a bit easier to use for most people.

Your suggestion was an alternative, but not better by any means.

I should have explained that we have a vintage version of VM pro 4.1 and the voice question does the trick perfectly with out any issues.

We have an old 412 IP Office so can nly go to V7 anyway but my major issue is that our reception staff use soft console and would require training to go to the new version and it is more effort that it is worth...
