Hey there Avaya gurus -

IPO 500 (R8) and VMPro 8.0: External calls to the VM DID aren't routing to VM. "Call cannot be completed as dialed." Our ISP verifies that the IPO is returning 404 not found (problem isn't on the carrier side).

ICR is configured to route to "VoiceMail". I have searched similar threads and seen reference to "VM:modulename" - and have tried such - but so far, I just get warnings when I point to anything but "VoiceMail".

Where in the VMPro is "modulename" specified? Can you think of anything else that could be throwing this off?

Thanks much in advance!

Hi 7deedtz, yes, Voicemail Pro Service is started and automatic. And all other VM features seem to be working (knocks wood, lol)

What exactly is it you are trying to do, are you trying to route to voicemail to collect messages or to route to a Auto Ateendant?

The module name is specified under the modules section in the vm pro client. So you could create a module called main and then to route to it on the incoming call route you would put VM:main in the detination field.

Hi RTGDFM,

In this case, users are trying to call in (from the outside) to collect their voicemail, change greetings, etc.

In the modules section, there are 3 auto attendants specified - but in this case, we don't want an AA; we just would like for the users to access their own mailboxes.

(Maybe this is part of the problem - that none of the 3 AAs is what we really want to specify. Does there need to be a different type of module for this purpose?) Thanks for responding!

Following up - do we need to define a new VMPro module (apart from the 3 AAs) to allow remote voice mailbox access?

Or is the problem likely to be in the ICR?

It seems so basic ... but I haven't found good documentation / examples. :-(

Thanks again, any ideas please sing out.

create a shortcode like tis:
SC = *99
TN = "Anonymous"
Action = Voicemail Collect
Line ID = 0
Set the shortcode as the destination in ICR, ignore any warnings in the manager.

If it ain't dutch it ain't much

We ended up building a new user with the details. Forwarded to VM and there ya go. Problem solved.

Thanks to those who responded, good day.
