VM Pro install on Windoiws 7 fails 1

Trying to install VM Pro on a Windows 7 system. I have installed IIS but the install aborts saying it is not present. I have VM Pro server on my own system running W7 and did not have this problem.

I tried that. I also tried logging in as local machine admin and I get the same error. Looks like a rebuild is in order.

I miss some essential info, what is the build of the VMPro software?

There's still an IIS component missing - I wish I knew which one, because I hit the same issue every time on W7. But anyone that I've installed VMPro on W7 didn't need UMS Web Voicemail (that's what an App Server is for), so I just do a Compact installation instead.

If I recall correctly, the Voicemail Pro features that need IIS aren't supported if running the server on Windows 7 - I suspect you've found out why.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

The compact install option worked. Thanks Tommy. On a different note I imported the 5.0 MDB and it worked but I was alerted that I could not save any call flow changes in any version past 6.0. So I have to replicate their call flows but that is not such a big deal.

That means you can import it, but if you then export it, you can't import that newly exported file into anything prior to 6.0

Some folks might want to export the mdb from a working system, modify if offline in their own copy of VM Pro client, and then import the modified version back into the original system.

When we do installs we do a 'Custom' install. Seems to bypass the IIS requiremment if you don't need it.

if you must use windows for you server I would strongly recommend always installing the IIS pre-requisite even if not needed, that way if your customer expands or updates their requirements you dont have to uninstall & re-install everything

For an even easer just use Application server, don't let the unfamiliarity of Linux scare you. You actually need less OS knowledge than you do on a windows installation
