Is there a way to create a shortcode to call a users' cell phone or other phone number to alert him/her when he/she gets a new VM?

I saw nothing in the job aids about this.

Thanks

I didn't see exercise 27...where is it?

It is on my documents CD under VM pro exercises

in beief create a default call flow for call back in VM pro. (usualy straight to a get-mail action)

add the following to the useres source numbers

P<Mobile Number>

I believe it is a liability with all releases to date that the IP Office/VMPro outcalling, as detailed by Avaya, will only call the number listed in Source Number (P<number>)one time. In other words - and unlike many other systems - you cannot specify the timing and frequency of outcalling attempts.

A further problem is that a message will NOT be left on an external answering device, ie. cellphone VM/home answering machine, indicating that you have a VM in VM Pro.

I don't think you'll get any arguments on that one in this forum...

the inability to retry failed calls is a P.I.T.A.
wowever a mobile will show a missed call (whic is better then nothing).
It is also possible to send an e-mail alert to a SMS msg with most mobile providers.

Again not perfect but can help

Hopefully With 3.0 somthing can be done about this.
