Hello all,

I am getting ready to upgrade my IPO and VM Pro Application Server from R11.0.4.3 to R11.0.4.4 and Finally R11.1 SP1

I am in the Application Server Web Manager and I set up a Remote Server using HTTP Protocol (I Enable HTTP file store for backup/restore).

My Remote Server is the Windows Machine that I use to talk to the Application Server:

IPO: 172.30.20.1
Application Server: 172.30.20.2
Windows machine to talk to application server / Remote Server Address: 172.30.20.3
Port: 8000
Path: /avaya/backup

When I attempt to backup to the remote server I get error: "Backup Failed: Pushing backup files stage failed"

Have you allowed files to be written in the web server configuration?

I use a SCP server for backups as it's easier to setup.

Hi,

The only way I got HTTPS (and HTTP) backups on IPO Application server is:
(I think that's the only way to make backups for IPO SE and 500v2 Expansions)

1. Fresh VMware install of a new 11.1 OVA. Do not start up the machine before increasing hard disk 1.
2. Increase disk space to at least 200GB.
3. Boot up and set desired IP address from the console.
(Centos7: systemctl start NetworkManager, nmtui, Edit conn eth0, OK, Back ,Quit, systemctl restart network, reboot server)
4. Ignition: As application server but not activating One-X or VMpro.
5. Setup the server using the standard IPO SE routine.
6. Platform view: The only services active should be Management Services and Web Manager.
7. Platform view/Settings/System: Enable HTTP file store, save
7. Platform view/Settings/System: Click the Increase Partition Size.
The machine will reboot. Wait til it's up again.
8. Platform view: on the status page, on the right side: You should now see a value on the Quota available for backup data.
Now the Backup application server is ready.

It works with pretty much any web server as long as you allow files to be written to the URL you're trying to save them to.
How to do it depends if you're using IIS, Apache or something else.

But just use a free SCP server from Solarwinds or similar, it's much easier to setup.

You can also backup to any SSH enabled Linux server using SCP.

Curious, how is doing a backup like this any different than just backing up the IPO Config mdb and doing a backup of the VM Pro via VM Pro > Backup & Restore?

dssm600rr: regarding backup methods
Yep, As you probably have found out, You will have automatic scheduled backups for several applications, for several servers in one place.
Thanks for the pink :)
