I have a VM Pro using dial by last name. When a caller transfers via Dial By Last Name or dials the extension directly - is there a way to announce something like "Your call is being transferred to "john doe" or "extension 210" " before the actual call is transferred?

What I do is put a greeting in the transfer action that says "Please hold while your call is being transferred". You will not get the persons name announced though. I've been doing this for years because at one time the caller would not hear ringback, but music until the call was answered. If they didn't have music you used to get dead air until the call connected.
