We have an VM Pro 8.0(1011)that was last upgraded in June 2012. I found out that it is not deleting the old messages from the folder Accounts. When you look in system status or visual voice, it will show no or very few messages in each users mailbox. But when you look in the accounts folder there are messages going back to when it was upgraded in 06/2012. Well over 16k messages for less that 100 users. Housekeeping is set at 45 days.
Any thoughts?

Before upgrading anything, make a full backup of the VMPro. (absolutely all of it).

Kind regards

Gunnar

Avaya no longer seem to list every fault/fix against current releases, they list some but upgrading will often fix issues they don't even mention...so it's always worth a shot :)

I have a 7.0 VMPro that is doing the EXACT same thing. Just noticed the other day. One "somewhat unusual" component of that site is that almost all messages are forwarded to email - only a couple of users collect messages from their phone. I plan to upgrade to latest 7.0 as first step.

This issue goes back much further than that. I find huge amounts of unsaved messages in the accounts folders for customers running 3.2 and 4.2 when we go to migrate to a new VM computer. They just build up over the years. It is kinda like remembering to delete Account folders after a person leaves and the user is renamed. It doesn't seem to cause any harm, but it does take up a little space.

Mike, just wondering if you upgraded to the current 7.0? And did it fix the issue?
