Alright guys, here's one for you. I installed a VM Pro on a server that wasn't yet joined to the domain and under an account that didn't have a valid email account on the exchange server. Since the install, the server has joined the domain and I uninstalled VMPro and reinstalled under the domain account which also at that point had a valid account in exchange.

The trouble is, I still don't have the choice to enable MAPI so that I can use all these UMS licenses I have...I can send and receive email from the Outlook client on the server, and of course SMTP works when I set it up, but I really need unified messaging!

Thanks in advance!

Remove the exchange account from the outlook client (via the control panel). Open outlook backup, re-establish exchange account.

Make sure vmclient is ONLINE when you select the mapi.

If all fails, uninstall/reinstall outlook?

I show people how to use this stuff sometimes...

I'll give that a shot...I wouldn't have thought it would be an outlook problem though. I'll update with results! Thanks!

Here's what I just did:

1. In control panel, I selected Mail and removed the exchange account.

2. Opened outlook to make sure it was gone.

3. In control panel, I selected mail and added the account back in.

4. Opened VMPro Client, made sure it was logged in, and checked to see if MAPI was still grayed out. It is still grayed out.

If the next step is uninstall/reinstall outlook, then I'll have to have the customer do that. What do you think?

It depends on what version you're running but there might be some more options in the control panel for IP Office VMPRo.

Sorry just woke up, seen you have 7.0.19 :)
Make sure you can send mail from an email client (outlook or something) on the server then try to setup VMPro

I definitely can send email from outlook on the server. I'm wondering of something is stuck in the registry, or if it is because when I reload VMPro I'm not reprogramming from scratch, I'm just restoring the backup.
