Hello to all.

Been a while, but I have a straight forward issue, but because I may have fogetten my programming, I need some input.

I have a customer with a Partner 6.0 system with a Large Voice Messaging PC Card.

3 POTS lines & 10 Extensions.

All 3 lines setup as roll over lines from the phone company.

Part time receptionist, all outside lines available to all extensions.

Normal operation is a call comes in, anyone answers and transfers the call to proper person. If no one answers, AA pickups, states the names and extensions and gives the caller options to leave a message. All of this works well.

Here is the issue...

One extension (14) gets 90% of the calls. This person is on the phone A LOT.

I have this extension owning LINE 2 which is this persons main number. Most of the calls come in on this particular line.

What they want is this:

When a call come in and he doesn't answer, the calls goes directly to Ext 14 VM. No problem.

However, if he is one the line, they still want the outside call to go directly to Ext 14 VM.

If the line is in use and busy, as far as the phone company is concerned, how am is the call supposed to get to Ext 14 VM to answer the call?

Is this even possible?

Right now if a call comes in on his line and it is busy, the call rolls over to the next available outside line, the AA answers and the caller selects his extension to leave a message.

The customer wants to avoid the caller from having to make a selection and for the call go directly to this person's VM.

To my knowledge, the only way this can be done is by VM provided directly by the phone company which would eliminate the need for the Partner VM anyway.

Any suggestions?

Thanks to all.

Only other way is to order another line for that user, give him ownership of that line as well, and have the phone company hunt them together.

The way you have it now is the only option versus ordering voicemail through the provider for that line.
