VM option out

I'm sure this has been answered before, but can't find the thread.

Is it possible to configure a mailbox to allow transfers to external numbers, after a VM is left? Very much like CCR does using the link (flash hook) feature.

If you have a NAM voicemail, you can setup the option for the caller to press 7 and have the norstar transfer the caller to an external number(like a cell phone). Unless you are talikng about "Off Prem Notification", where you setup the mailbox to notify you of a message either by pager or cell phone. Only the NAM will do the dial 7 option during your mailbox greeting (not after a message was left), but both the NAM and Flash will do "Off Prem Notification".

Go into Feature 983 mbox to set up the outdial for the mailbox. IE., Pool A = Pool 1

To CHANGE your outdial number

From your phone with the handset down in the cradle
Press FEATURE 981
PSWD: Enter your mailbox password
The screen will show:

0 new 0 saved
PLAY RECORD QUIT

On Your dial pad press 8 8
Your screen will show:

Transfer Dest:
(it will show the current number that is set up)
CHNG NEXT

Press CHNG
Screen will show:

Destination:
PHONE EXT

Press Phone to have the call go to an outside phone number. Press Ext if you want the call to do to an inside Extension.

Screen will show:

Ph:
RETRY OK

Using your dial pad dial the phone number you want the call to go to. IE., 555-1212. Dial it exactly as you would from your phone. Do NOT include access codes like 9.
Press OK when finished.

Screen will show:
5551212
ADD OK
Press OK

Screen will show:
Transfer: on
CHNG QUIT

You can hang up now.

Yes that is correct, it is for the NAM.

Class of service allowed? ~Will Nortel soon be NoTel??~

For COS 1 which is the most used Class Of Service outbound transfer is set to Yes. Only COSs 5, 6, 11 and 12, are set to N on outbound transfer and that can be edited if need be. MRoberts
