Does anyone know how to make a ext ring straight to vm? In the Avaya world all I have to do is X port a ext and it will kick to coverage. I tried doing it on a "inactive" ext but that didn't work

Actually it's not even a DID just an ext but the version is 4.0.2.21d

What about assigning a DN to a phone that sits in the phone room and use F984 so all calls will go directly to vmail.

Yea I know I could do the phone in the phone room thing but I'll need to set up a few of them so a bunch of phones sitting in the phone room all set to cllfwrd to vm isn't very realistic. There as to be a way to set up a VM only ext or "phantom ext"

As to the other response of using a hunt how would that work exactly?

Try assigning your line in the express message tab in the mailbox and prime the line to your VM extension

So are you guys saying it is not possible with out setting up an actual phone?

Hunt Group
Make the voice Mail DN the only member of a Hunt Group
Over Flow the Hunt Group to the VM DN after 15 seconds
Build a Mailbox with the Hunt Group Extension
Test it should work

It is possible. You add inactive dn lets say 400 to an open hunt group let say 625. Set the call pilot dn 472 as the overflow on the hunt group 625. Create you mailbox whatever number and put the hunt group extension 625 in as the extension. When you call 400 the hunt group sees it as busy sending the call directly to overflow dn 472 which finds the hunt groups dn assigned to the mailbox.
