I have a Copper 0x32 with a 4 port AVT PhoneExpress VM system. Until recently the call out notification worked perfectly. Now when a message is left in a mailbox with notification set you can see the port go active to call back, but it never even seizes a trunk. It also does not work with internal extensions. I have the ports programmed for Call Outs in Line configuration, the dial plan is setup properly in the VM, and the notification settings are correct in the mailbox. I am assuming that something has occured with the integration, but every other aspect of the VM is working perfectly. It seems to me that everything in the VM is setup properly, and possibly someone changed some programming on the switch. The dialogic board has six jacks, one has a line cord that goes to the serial port for integration, two that connect to digital ports, and two that loop up to another card that appears to be a modem. I am not much of a Nortel guy, but know that the integration is very specific. As of now I am unsure of the software revision in the switch, but can find out if needed. Any ideas on what to look at or if someone has a cheat sheet on integration with the AVT it would be greatly appreciated.

So your voicemail accesses a line to dial out for the notification? Can you put a test set on the line to see if digits are being dialed when the line is accessed?

No, it is digital ports. However, I have a set next to the VM that is programmed with direct CO appearances, and I do not even see it picking up a CO.

If you put phones on those ports can they dial out?

also put the extension numbers for the voicemail as station autodial on display buttons of a phone and see if you can see that the VM DN itself goes off hook when the vm looks like it is. sounds like 5 possible problem areas that you will need to check out. Programming in VM, Digital card in VM wiring to phone system, Port on phone system, programming on phone system.

GL and let us know what you find.
