Does anyone know how to make Meridian Mail page a user after voicemail is left on a certain extension?

FIRST YOU NEED TO SEE IF YOU HAVE THE OPTION, GO INTO TOOLS AND PICK OPTION 11 OR 12 DEPENDING ON YOUR RELEASE AND SEE IF YOU HAVE OUTCALLING

OLD ROLMEN WORKING ON NORTELS

Ok outcalling is enabled and i out my voicemail accoun in personal and enabled RN. When I call my voicemail to set it up and it asks me for a phone # it says invalid number to any format I use. xxx-xxxx, xxx-xxx-xxxx, x-xxx-xxx-xxxx, 9xxx-xxxx, 9x-xxx-xxxx.

Where do I enable it per user? I believe our system is not setup to be wide open.

Is remote notification enabled in the class of service for the voicemail box?

You also need to check your outdial permissions. Your outdialing may have been configured for on switch only.

yes it's enabled and where do I check for outdialing?

In the class of service, scroll all the way down to the bottom and see if it shows Local, Long Distance, Unrestricted, On Switch, etc.

I did switch and when I put a number to to the RN to it's says "that number cannot be reached from this service"

The number don't go to the RN, you go down and highlight the Remote Notification feild (in the mailbox). Then hit the More Detail option and in there is where you set up your times and numbers. Also if you have it using Switch then you will not be able to dial outside the system you probably want it to use Local. All that depends of course on how you have your Permissions / Restrictions built.

ok we are using MM 13.13.1 This maximum number of outcalling channels is 2. I'm not sure if that needs to increase. Can anyone post up a guide to doing this?

Change it from 'switch' to 'local' and see if it will take the number. 'Switch' means you will only be able to send the call to another DN within your PBX. As long as your pager is a local number, you should be okay with changing it to 'Local'.

My bad it was set to Local. What about other restrictions to look at? The previous telecom guy said the system isn't set wide open and I'd have to open up ports or something for each user wanting RN.

Take a look at your Channel Allocation Table in System Status and Maintenance. Are they set to:
Type=Voice
Capability=Full
Outbound=All

If not, then you will have to courtesy disable each channel and change them. You do that in DSP Port Status. If you have to change them, I recommend doing them 1 at a time and re-enabling the Channel immediately. This way you won't affect the rest of the users too much by taking down a good portion of the voice ports.

Also look in the Permissions/Restrictions list for "Local" and make sure that the numbers that you are trying to dial are allowed.

thanks guys the only thing I was missing was allowing the number!
