Hi, not sure if this is the right forum for this, but here goes..

I have a vmware server on a windows xp computer, i have a vmware machine that is a nt4server, but when i boot the the virtual machine up it displays the message "The network bridge ondevice VMnet0 is temporarily down becaue the bridged ethernet interface is down. The Virtual machine may not be able to communucate with the host or the other machines on our network."

Not sure what has gone wrong here, can someone please help ..

Many Thanks

You do not have VMware Server running on XP, you have Workstation. What version of Workstation are you running? Is the ethernet cable plugged into the network or are you trying to virtualize a wireless connection?

Its definately VMware Server 1.0.4, i tried it on a widows 2000 pro workstation and n xp pro workstation, so i guess its because that its not on a server os that its not working.. the network cable is plugged in, the host is workig fine on the network. what i did was make a physical server a virtual server using the converter tool, works really well, i can boot the server in a vmware server fine as well, but the networkign is not playing ball..

Many Thanks
