How Lite is the voice mail. I am coming from an Intuity world so I am shooting for the stars.
Quick questions Can I transfer out of VM lite like *T in the Intuity?
Can I 0 out of VM Lite.
For the Office I am setting up just one of those options would save me from going to Pro and needing a PC, a $2000 dollar savings. It might also eliminate my need for the VCM Kit for more savings, if I go all digital phones.

I'm also Confused, do you need a PC with VM lite.

You can use "0" optiopn on VM Lite only from a users mailbox not group.
You do need a pc for VM lite as it is a software application
Unless using the internal card. Dont use the internal card!

Soopa Doopa Intergalactic IP Office installation mechanic and configuration corruptor from way back.

Just some additional pointers

The dial 0 option on VM lite can route calls to a differnt destination for each users :)

Voicmail light requires a verry low spec PC (P166 +32 MB of ram will suffice if you can still find one.) maby your cust could recycle an old PC to obtain a cost saving?

IP Phones, Personaly I would only use IP Phones where there is a definite need, not just a discision bassed. on "everyone says that IP telephony is the next great thing"

IP Phones are great for remote locations (home workers - remoute buildings where running multipair cables is expensive etc.) & can also be usefull if there is a shortage of cat5 points in the office.

where the office has sufficent cabling capacity TDM phones are a lot less hastle to install & maintain

At another sire I am running a S8100 that is all IP hardphones. The this site I was just trying to gethte cost down closer to a partner system, that I know would be rock solid. So for some Cost savings I am going to use spare 6400 sets I have from my G3SI site and I was trying to avoid the Voicemail Pro for savings. The next question is this VCM Kit my Business partner says I don't need it with VM Lite. Is that only with the embedded or with both embedded and PC based, as that is another chunk of change. Without the phones, VM pro, and VCM Kit I am getting the 403 price down to the Partner cost.

The VCM is NOT needed for external Voicemail (VM Lite or VM Pro) it is only required for emmbeded VM on the IP401.

If you are not using IP Phones & not attempting to network to another system then you DO NOT need a VCM

Go with the 403 depending on phones you currently use you say they IP hardphones this will have made the choice of 403 DT or 403 DS. You will need a VCM to match the amount of Users or lines with the system.

ie if you have 10 users it's a good idea to get a VCM 10 because to even make internal calls it will use a channel until this call is connected

Ebay is a great source of VCM and Feature Keys and you could spend £900 and get all the keys you will ever need in your phone life.hope this saves you money worked for me
