We have a remote IP Office connected to our central voice mail server.

Users connected to the remote IP Office are reporting that they are not always getting a VM light indicator when voice mail is waiting for them.

Could this be a misconfig from the remote IP Office to the central voice system?

Thanks.

posibly, what are the VM settings you have at the remote site
it should be set to type LINE
& the line number should be your VoIP Line.

The remote site is set to line.

The line number is set to 5, which is the only option available on the pull down list, however it appears(to me anyways) that the VOIP line is line 220 - Since I did not setup the system and don't know a heck of a lot about it, I am not 100% sure, but it is the only one which lists the central IPO address and is the only one with a VOIP tab to configure.

Line 5 for us appears to be the PRI.

It is actualy the outgoing line group ID that is required so i suspect your system is correctly setup

also confirm what software version you are running at each site & please dont tel me that it is 2.1(15)

The line group appears to be correct. Thanks.

Central site is an IP406 running 2.1(27)

Remote site is an IP403 running 2.1(27)

What is interesting/weird is that each site "sees" the other site's device as running 2.1(0). What I mean by that, is what you see in the Control Unit portion of the Manager program of each.

remove faststart in voip form at both ends and your problem will disappear.

Fastart is not enabled on either end.

As an update to this message, the problem is still occurring, however it appears to happen whenever the users at the remote site receive voice mail while DND is turned on.

Also, as soon as they access their voice mail and press 0 to listen, the light comes, on.

Anyone with any ideas?

Have avaya been made aware of this ( the DND part of the problems looks significant to me)
