VM Lamp Indicator on mult. phones

I have an HR department that wants to have their own vm boxes with the VM indicator on them. they also have a mailbox that people call into if they are sick. they want all of the HR department to see when there's a VM in that box, or have that messege forward to their vm boxes. Any ideas? This is a BCM 400 with 4.0 software on it.

You can use the alternate extension in the vm proile for that one mailbox but it is limited to 5 users and the HR dept staff won't be able to tell which mailbox has turned their indicator on.

What I've done in the past is to install a T7100 set where everyone can see it for the "sick" box. When someone leaves a message they just log into it instead of their own. Don't know if that's appropriate for your situation though.
 
The problem is that if they already have their own mailboxes you can not assign that ext. as an alt. extension. At this point i think i'll have to add the phone in the common area. I was wondering if they have enabled the forwarding option in the 400 4.0 yet like they have in the bcm 50
 
An extension can be programmed to only one voice mailbox. What we generally do is have the customer purchase a Unified Messaging client then use their eMail client to monitor the "sick call" mailbox.

No message forwarding on BCM400 R4, you would need to upgrade to R5 for that. Your situation is one of those simple little things that Nortel doesn't do well, however Avaya does, hopefully we can look forward to this.
 

I guess you could put all the HR dn's in a hunt group and set message notification in the HR mailbox to call that hunt group or use answer dn on all exts and notify on it.





 
tried adding them to a glist and adding that glist to the alt. ext. in the vm box...no lamp indicator.
