Hello, We have a Lucent Melin Legend phone system using Audix for voicemail. Does anyone know if it's possible to setup a voicemailbox for a calling group? It's for our helpdesk and there are 6 extensions(users) in this calling group. I've spoken with a technician from the company we get our phone support though and they are saying the only way for me to do this is to purchase an answering machine and make sure it is logged in and all other users in the group are logged out. I have a hard time believing there isn't a way for the system to do this without a seperate answering machine. Anyone know of any other ways to do this?
Thank you,
Nicole

overflow current CG to new CG, use auto login in, member in CG a new station /new voice-mail sub in audix

cvrbob,

Will that work if the service is coming in on a PRI or only with POTS lines?

I have had issues with overflowing hunt groups when a PRI was involved.

Mark

it should work either way because you are only overflowing what is in the 1 st calling group . What group type were you using ?

Thanks cvrbob, I'm not sure how to go about doing this, but now that I at least know what I need to do, I can try to figure out how to do it. I inherited the job of managing our phone systems and I'm learning as I go.

The main hunt group was a auto logout, the secondary hunt group was autologin. when everyone was logged out of the first group, it would just ring and ring forever. The same scenario with pots lines worked fine.

soeery nicdg mist a step , exsisting CG to overflow to new calling Group say 776 member add 1 analog station , auto login, loop to line port , add line to phantom station to voice mail

telecombay look at your number based overflow on main hunt , should be 1

Cvrbob, that sounds completely Greek to me. Can you elaborate?

nicdg you need a t&r station and a empty line port to do a loop around
exsisting calling group let say 776
spm
extensions
calling groups
776
overflow to
777
group type auto login
member (t&r station)from your 012 or 016 station module crossconnect to a line port let say 822
extensions
7301 is acttuly an adjunct or any sta
lines & trunks add 822
group coverage
add station 7301 to mail group
in audix add sub 7301

That makes sense. I didn't think to try looping an analog station back into the system through a line port. I will try that out.

Why wouldn't you overflow the calling group to the Audix calling group, and make a mailbox with the same extension number as the original calling group? Is this an Audix limitation?

ttt tried that could never get cg into the coveragegroup so that it will ans, just sits and rings at the last member, can do it with lines ,but could never do with cg w/stations , any idea's

Ok,
I will lug out the Audix manuals. But I am pretty sure that you will overflow the calling group to the AUDIX calling group. Not put the calling group into coverage for Audix. Then, you will set someone in the calling group to receive the message waiting light whenever there is a message ffor the Calling Group. And finally, just add the subscriber into the Audix, and you are good to go.
