Using PMVS Release 4 and Partner ACS:

I need to setup a mailbox for a support group. That's easy, I've setup box 40, complete w/outdialing. Fine.

Now, I would like inbound users from w/the AA to be able to dial 40, have the call ring at extensions 14, 18 and 16 (either in order or as a group) but if no one answers (All busy OR just don't pick up) I'd like to end up in extension 40's mailbox.

I have group 1 setup with the lines and I can call I71 and get the ring I want, but I can do a call cover from ext 40 to ext 71 (F20 40 71) it doesn't take.

IDeas?

Thanks,
-Walden

Have the auto attendant go to ext 40. Put cover buttons on other phones so when 40 rings the other phones ring.

Remember you can't cover a cover.

"Cover buttons", do you mean a button to enable call coverage of 40 from the other extensions? If so, can't I only cover ext 40 from one extension? How do I get it to ring at multiple extensions?

I beleive you can put buttons on each phone that would be labeled "cover ext 40"

If you dont want to do it that way, you could put the exts in a calling group and set a selector code transfer to that group.

Either way will work, but using the cover button method, you will be able to leave a voice message if no one answers the call.

Button-based call coverage of the type 1043 suggested does not exist on a Partner. Partner allows only a single extension to cover another extension, and not to a calling group extension, either.

Any extension can have a single key programmed with call cover (Feature 20 40 YY), where YY is the covering extension. The key acts as a toggle. If another extension activates a simimilarly programmed key directing cover to their extension for 40, it will turn off the original cover and re-direct cover to the new extension. A button is not required except for visual indication of active coverage. Anyone can F2040YY and turn coverage on to them, and do the same again to cancel it.

That's the limitation of a Partner. Got to go Magix to step up to multiple coverage positions.

Loop an extension to a co port. Put the extension in the calling group with the other phones. Make the extension the line owner of the co in the voice mail. Be sure to assign the line to the extension with ringing as well. Now when calls go to the group, this extension rings as well (even when all the other extensions are busy). If it rings 4 times, the co that it is looped to will answer and take the message.
