Partner R7 with Small PC card. Need a simple setup - where AA transfers calls to a Group - and if unanswered - call flows to a mailbox for the lowest ext# in the Group. Ext 10 is part of the Group and is the only ext with a mailbox and VM coverage. Is this possible? I know I could try a loopback to a CO port - but then there would be no visible "message light"

Loop it back to a CO port and make 10 the line cover ext , sys prog #208

Thanks allisland! I will give that a try - and report back. When you say "make ext 10 the line cover ext" - I assume have ext 10 cover all lines. Don't I also have to make the loopback ext port a member of the group?

Take a spare ext and place it in the group, loop that ext to a spare CO trunk, assign that trunk to ext 10(line cover)at ext 10 place that CO trunk on delayed ring, and make sure not to assign the trunk to any other ext's, also make sure that ext has no other lines assign'd to it just the looped CO trunk, and you may have to adjust the transfer return so it goes to ext 10 VM before it goes back to VM port.
Hope that explains it better!

Allisland: It didn't seem to work for me - probably because I left other lines on ext 10 - I really don't want to remove them (is this critical to make it work). The line I am using for the looparound (line 3) is a button on the other extentions. Should I program the system for only 2 lines (to remove those line buttons) from the other extentions - and then add line 3 (the looparound line) only to ext 10. No other extentions have a mailbox. Will that allow it to work? I changed the transfer return extention back to the VM ports (instead of 10) and then it will work - but with a pause and VM first saying "your party is not available" - before the AA transfers to 10 - and then the call will go to 10's mailbox.

Leave your working lines on ext 10, your loop around trunk should only appear on 10, no other ext's, plus the ext your using for the loop around as part of the group should not have any lines ringing on it, that way when calls come in for CG 1-4 your ext 10 and what ever other ext's are in the group will ring, the extra ext will loop to a spare CO port, assign that port to ext 10 under # 208, if it's trunk 3 it should only appear on ext 10 and I would give it a delayed ring on 10 to give the rest time to pick up the actual call, and the tranfer return I was refering to was the amount of rings before it returns to calling party #105, set it higher then the amount of rings that takes 10 to voice mail.
