Hi Guys
I probably missed the forum on this but here goes anyway.
For VLSM if I have a IP Addressing Scheme of 192.168.1.0/24 and I need to block it into a 97and 45. Which way would I go about it.
Would the 97 be a/25 notation and the 45 a /26, and wouldn't this waste address space???

Yes, you would use a /25 and /26 respectively. You are indeed wasting some addresses but you are maximizing available space within the constraints of the addressing needed.
