hi guys

im having a little problem using the vlookup function, what i have is two sheets (sheet1 and sheet2)on sheet one i have 3 columns.
column a "ss numbers" a unique identifying number for each person

column b name of employees

column c job number

on sheet sheet two i have the same

the only difference is the job number on sheet one is not filleed in. i want it to check the ss number on sheet one find the same number on sheet two then look up the job number(on sheet2) and enter it in to column c on sheet one

im sorry if this is abit garbled

i ve tried naming the ranges but just cant get it to work
any help would be great

so how exactly is this related to VBA ?

Rgds, Geoff

We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colours but they all live in the same box.
