Q, Do VLANs break up a broadcast domain?

Thanks. Yep now leant in a normal operation (no VLANS configured) a switch doesn't break up broadcasts, but breaks up collisions. But with VLANs there logically treated as completely separate networks, and therefore stop broadcasts.

Cheers.

No problem. i guess you're doing a CCNA?

After that do a CCNP. It is really amazing what these cisco things can do. CCNA just scratches the surface!

MCP,CCA, Net+, 1 quarter CCNP...

Yep, failed twice, but its been great learning so I don't mind.

672/1000 1st time, then 763 2nd time, so getting there for thr 849 pass mark.

Don't worry about it, just keep going!

A Cisco instructor told me that there is a 85% fail rate with the CCNA exams these days.
