Need help with a scenario were PCs connect to the back of IP phones. The phones in turn plug into Cisco 2960 switches.
Want to create a Voice vLan (vlan 20 <10.10.20.0/24>) for the phones & a Data vLan (vlan 2 <10.10.2.0/24>)for the PCs.

The Mitel3300’s DHCP is enable & also have a Windows DHCP enabled. I also have a router for inter vlan routing.

Could you please help me with full details on the switch & router configs/ commands for this situation.

The following is what someone thinks. You can provide your own setup along these guidelines.

Thank you.

1/ The phones need to identify the PC VLAN as 2, with 802.1q enabled on the LAN port and VLAN 20 tagged, VLAN 2 untagged, This is configured through a DHCP Vendor option OR their Voice Server, or manually on each phone.
2/ The switchports the phones are in need to be configured either with
switchport mode access
switchport access VLAN 2
switchport voice vlan 20
or
switchport trunk encap dot1q
switchport mode trunk
sw tr nat vlan 2
sw tr allow vlan 2,20

3/ The switchports linking to the router will need to trunk VLANs 2 & 20

4/ The router interface linking to the switch will need to trunk both vlans in

5/ The router interface on the VLAN that the DHCP server is NOT on will need an IP helper address pointing at the DHCP server

Sorry,
you will also need:

switchport mode access
switchport access VLAN 2
switchport voice vlan 20
spanning-tree portfast
or
switchport trunk encap dot1q
switchport mode trunk
sw tr nat vlan 2
sw tr allow vlan 2,20
spanning-tree portfast trunk
