Vlan propagation problem between 3com 4200G switches

Hi,

I have two 3Com 4200G switches wich are connected together with an hybrid port. (OS 3.xx)

I am trying to create a second Vlan "Vlan2" on the two switches with a DCHP dedicated to this Vlan. I untagged all the necessary ports with "vlan2" (and removed "vlan1") on the two switches.

The dhcp is connected to "switch1" and all machines in "Vlan2" on this switch have the second DHCP working.

The problem is on the second switch "switch2", machines in "vlan2" cannot have a dynamic ip. But they cannot ping the dhcp server even with a static IP.

i tried to add the hybrid port between the switches in "vlan2" untagged but that doesn't work.

Any idea ?

It needs VLAN2 tagged between the switches.

Hi Takeron. I am trying to configure my 3com switches with a new VLAN2 and I"m having problems getting DHCP and internet to VLAN2.

I think I'm close and was ondering if you could help me in finding what I"m not doing correctly.

VLAN1 and VLAN2 are on the switch.
I need port 39 to be members of both VLAN1 and VLAN2.
Port 47 on the switch needs to be member of JUST VLAN2.
Port 47 connects to an interface on my SonicWall which I want to act as the DHCP server and internet Gateway for anything on VLAN2. DHCP and internet works find if I plug a device direclty into my sonicwall interface so I know thats configured correctly.

Port 39 is Hybrid with untagged-VLAN1 and Tagged-VLAN2.
Port 47 is set as TRUNK and is not a member of VLAN1 and is untagged-VLAN2.

My wirelss AP in port 39 operates in VLAN1 normally, but the SSID I have setup for guests (VLAN2) doesn't get DHCP or internet.

Any thoughts on this configu would be greatly appreciated.
