Can somebody tell me how can I configure multiple VLANs on a BayStack 28115/ADV switch? Is any special software required for that?

Do you know if there is a trial copy for Optivity for Windows available - I need it for 10 minutes to setup 3 vlans thats it.

Optivity Workgroup is a much less expensive alternative to the "CAMPUS" version and will handle this older switch. If you have the 58000 type in the mix, you can use the 28115 as the master, but, this may not end up being satisfactory in the long run. (The tagging is a bit different) You can buy a version of "Workgroup" for under $400.00 on the web. I might just have a copy to sell, I'll look later.

Your other alternative is to check into EBAY. Very often a copy of Optivity CAMPUS will go on the block and get sold very reasonably. I have seen a Version 6.0 (Win95/Win 3.1 only) go for as little as $30.00 The 6.2 and higher (NT capable) will likely not go for less than $100.00.
