On the router simulation how in depth do they go into configuration. For instance when creating Vlans do you just enable the Vlan or are you setting up VTP, configuring the ports on the switch and enabling the Vlan on the server? For DDR Do you have to configure the dialer information and then the DDR access list. Just want to know how much I need to commit to memory.

PS. I have Used the Learnkey ICND cds, the Sybex books by Todd Lammle, The Transcender Test Questions and Test questions from

gsplsnger,

Sounds like your study material should get you where you want to be!

If you are scoring 90's on the practice tests and you know the stuff and not just the questions - you should do fine!

On the sims - they can not expect you to do a lot - you have only a few min on each question - what you need to commit to memory is concepts - understand what you are doing and why - be ready for anything they put on the screen!

Configure the routers and switches in your lab or sim again and again until it is 2nd nature - if someone says you do not need to do VTP or OSPF - Cisco just might add it to the exam the next day :) People only guess based on what they saw when they took the exam - but questions change!

The more hands-on labs the better - it is about light configs and troubleshooting!

Good luck and keep reading the posts for more information!

Hope this helps!
