Hi, Iv configured a Stack of 8 Procurve 2610 switches all managable from one ip address

the only problem iv got is that a vlan is only configurable on the current switch not accross the stack.

Is it possible to do this?!?!

its in a serviced office configured accross mutliple comms rooms

Cheers

I completed this before on 4000m switches. Just as an example say you have VLAN's 36, 56, 64 configured on the "commander" switch of the stack and want these VLAN's on all the other switches. On the switch ports that connect the two switches together you will need to put the port as a tagged port in all of the VLANS and leave the default VLAN for that port as untagged.

Switch One
Port A1 (Link to switch 2)
Tagged for VLAN's 36, 56, 64
Untagged for VLAN 1

Switch Two
Port A2 (Link to switch 1
Tagged for VLAN's 36,56,64
Untagged for VLAN 1

Then just add your normal ports into the VLANS you want them in as untagged ports, but remeber to set them to no on the default VLan if you put them into another VLAN. You can use this same method for all the other switches as well.

You will have to do this on each switch, you cant make the change on one and have it replicate to the others.
