Trying to setup on Vital. I'm using the VisaNet platform. All info entered correctly and looks good. Problem is it won't process High speed and goes to dial up.

I'm thinking the problem is in EDC.ini under Visanet where I need an IPhost (SSL is checked).

Credit Card people had no idea what I was talking about but I kept grinding away and got someone to give me:
port 5003

I put this in after IPHost= in the EDC.ini, opened port in router, still nada.

Anyone know what else I'm missing?

Thanx.

The "built in" host address for Visanet should work fine without altering the EDC.ini.

Depending on your type of high speed service provider and associated hardware you may not be enabled for secure socket layer connection (SSL)

Look in the EDC debugging file to wee what it says when you attempt to connect via SSL. aloha\tmp\debout.edc (open with notepad)

Once the system fails on to connect on high speed it will continue to connect via dialup untill EDC restarts. Just turn POS off then turn POS on. Simply exiting the GUI will not do the trick...

We currently process SSL with Heartland using Visanet, it works fine.

In EDC.ini my host ip is setup for Heartland using httpsprod.secureexchange.net.

Isn't this the line I would have to change to go out to another processor?

I checked the debout and it interestingly reports the following:

Unable to connect to host.
"Make sure you have the host and resource typed correctly."
host = vitalps.com (which I have)
resource = /scripts/gateway.dll?Transact

Do I need to put that last line in the EDC.ini also?

Obviously I'll try that tomorrow before going live, but if you have any further thoughts, much appreciated.

Still not working.Any last ideas.
Above error message in debout went away.
New debout isn't showing anything that jumps out at me.
When I try to run a card in EDC BOH I get error "Failed -19", then it tries dialup.
I guess I'll call in the dealer if no one can help further, I know it's got to be something simple I'm missing. Only problem is that dealer charges big fee whether it's easy or not to setup a new processor.
I'll post results when they fix it for future archiving.

You could backup your EDC.ini somewhere, erase the one in the EDC folder, so that next time you start up EDC, it starts out clean. It sounds like you have conflicting info in it. You can always restore the backup you made if you screw something up.

Next guess would be SSL not enabled in explorer (You were using it before, so unlikely), incorrect parameters under Visanet, or the merchant did not enable highspeed on their end.
