Hi - My Photoshop 7 has many many fonts. When I select the type tool, I cannot see what the font looks like until I type a letter in the foreground color. Is there any way to see what the different fonts look like before you use them?

Like WordPerfect has a macro which prints out one line of every font on paper, along with the name.

Hi,

Photoshop has yet to introduce the font manager system similar to many word processing applications.

One thing that you can do though to speed up the process in finding a good font is to select the first font on your list, type a phrase or word that you need the font for, highlight the text, and then click on the font name in the options palette so that the font name is highlighted and then press the down and up arrows and cycle through your fonts while watching your phrase change or word change fonts.

As for printing out one line of every font on paper, along with the name, I've never heard of photoshop doing that. Perhaps it is possible but I don't know how.

Hope this helps!

if you highlight your text and press Ctrl+h you can remove the highlighting. This makes it easier to view the font.

Then do what Spyderix suggests.

as far as I am aware this is the quickest way to view the fonts in ps Manic

eamc,

This may sound like a stupid question but why not use your word program to print out the lists of fonts?

The fonts will appear the same in both programs, so I seem to be missing why PS needs to print them off for you to use this.

Hope this helps Wullie

There are plenty of free font display programs out there that can print sample sheets. On the PC, do a web search for 'fontlister 2'. The Mac has several apps at versiontracker.com.
