This is bugging me.

It seems like the VS.Net studio automatically saves every project you work on upon exit.

Does anybody know a way to make it prompt for saves?

The problem is that sometimes I add code and paint myself into a corner and can't remember how everything was back when it was working, so when I try just to close the "solution" without saving, it saves all of my f-ups.

It's totally hosed two of my training projects to date.

Help would be appreciated.

VS.NET saves your project whenever you compile. If you compiled at anytime between your project load and the time you quit, then all of the changes that you made will be saved. This save isn't prompted, and I don't think there is a way to prompt the user. Otherwise, VS.NET should prompt you to save changes when you exit the project.

Take a look in the options dialog:

Environment | Projects and Solutions:
Build & Run options.

Maybe that will do what you want.

That drives me crazy. What's the point of saving the source code on a compile? How else are you going to test your program?

Thanks for the advice.

It sucks being a beginner.
