Typically, though, the only two differences are the price and the license. I know that for Visual Studio 6 Student Edition, the agreement stated that I was unable to sell anything that I made with the product, so I would assume that the academic edition of VS.NET would be the same way. AFIK, there is no way to tell your license situation from your compiled project, so that part is all on your conscience.
