I'm using VS2008 and starting a new project. It is a Viscual c# Office 2007 Excel 2007 Workbook project. I click on Project Types in the New Project dialog box. I select Excel 2007 Workbook. I use the defaults values for name, location, solution name. Click OK

I get the pop-up Visual Studio Tools for Office Project Wizard. I select "Create a new document" and click OK.

Everything seems to startup. Teh solution explorer shows all sorts of normal stuff and then VS2008 just dies - it just goes away. Next Excel pops up with a "We are sorry we need to tell Bill something bad happened" windows.

This was working for about a week now it dies every time I create a new project or open and existing one.

All service packs that I can find are installed for VS and Excel.

check your computer's event logs there may be information in there that could pin point the problem.
Have you installed any windows updates or software between the time this wasn't happening and started happening?
Have you tried repairing Office or VS?

Hey Jason, yes there is an error message in the event log that talks about a problem in Excel bucket 1. Not much useful stuff and nothing on general queries on google that is useful.

I can try the repair.
