Note that there are signification price differences between the Professional and Team Editions:
VS.NET 2005 Pro: $799 (and that's all you get)
VS.NET 2005 Pro with MSDN Premium: $2,499
VS.NET 2005 Team with MSDN Premium: $5,469
VS.NET 2005 Team Suite with MSDN Premium: $10,939
The differences are that with the MSDN subscription, you also get copies of all their operating systems (Windows for Workgroups v3.11 and up) and for the Team editions you also get copies of MS-Office and their server systems (Biz-Talk, etc). The Team Suite gets you their model-driven architecture product, which lets large teams work together on really complex products.
MSDN Universal has gone away. Universal subscribers are getting VS.NET 2005 Pro with premium for now -- they will be receiving their choice of Team Edition (Developer/Architect/Tester) sometime in December.
If you act fast, you might be able to order Universal from someone like Amazon (~$2400) and get an upgrade to one of the Team Edition versions, saving you about three grand. No guarantees, however -- you might want to check with the MSDN people to make sure you can still do this.
