I have installed VS2005 Pro and it comes with SQL Server Developer 2005. VS allowed me to install to my D drive with some things needing to be installed to C.
Sql though, it is defaulting everything to C and will not
allow me to specify which drive to install to.

Would anyone know how I may get it installed to D?
Does it have to be on C?

I have tried intalling SQL seperatly but to no avail.

You should not worry about that (instal drive). If you need to format your c drive, all the programs will have to un-install and re-install. They depend on windows reg entries.
I assume that your windows's installed on c: and that is the reason that VS will be installed on c. (New runtime files,.. .Net framework, c:\windows\.net microsoft\, c:\windows\system32\ ... etc)

I think you got what i mean
