When creating a visual link:
MasterEmployee table
Employee Detail table

Link based on: EmployeeID

When I drag the link from the employee detail table(EmployeeID) to the master file(EmployeeID), the visual line does NOT appear on the screen and the link is not created. Both fields gray-out, but the LINK does not appear.

When I attempt to link the master to the detail:
WARNING: The link you added causes a link config with
multiple paths leading to the same table. You may want to consider reversing the link.

Any ideas?

Are there other tables in this report which have links to either one of these columns? If so, I think you have to create an alias, in CR, to the table (second copy of the table in essence. can be done by addind the table to the report again) and then you can link it.

As a test, create a new blank report with just these 2 tables and see if you can link with no problems.

Almost sounds like a display problem in the linker.

Go check the Database->Show SQL to see how they're joined.

Crystal has a little bug that may responsible for the behavior you are seeing.

Make sure you drag the link to the BOTTOM of the field you are linking to.

This problem occurs only when you are linking to a field that is the first field in the 2nd table.
